Located near Private Bus Stand, Mavelikara, Travancore Regency is a standalone restaurant known for its tasty food and quality ambience. This restaurant is open from 7 am to 11 pm on all days of the week but the best time to visit them will be during their lunch hours. Dragon Chicken, Neymeen Pollichathu, Duck Mappas, Chicken Biriyani are some of the delicious dishes to relish upon from this restaurant.
Travancore regency was started in the year 2011 and fulfilled the towns need for a upper class restaurant experience with decent ambience and good food. This one turned out to be a perfect place to have quality time with your friends or family in Mavelikkara town.
Travancore Regency is located at North Michel Junction near to the Private bus stand. They have good parking area and has almost all the facilities required of a good modern restaurant such are air conditioned dining areas, credit card acceptance, reservation of seats, door delivery etc.
Peculiar looking will be the first impression you will have about the Dragon chicken from this place which has very less cashew and lots of capsicum in its preparation. Slightly sourr, this dish is first dipped in flour and later fried in oil to make it dry. Duck mappas is a dish prepared in traditional Kerala way at this restaurant with non spicy preparation and very loose gravy prepared with coconut milk. The duck and potato pieces also have the absorbed taste of the gravy that can be enjoyed well with their rotti and porotta dishes.
Neymeen pollichathu is seer fish prepared in a unique Kerala style preparation. The fish is felt fried at first and later wrapped in banana leaves after smothering with special masalas. This dish has a quite different feel and taste from the pearl spot fish usually used in this type of preparation. Chicken Biriyani from this place is served with salad, pickle and pappadam and uses a bigger variety of rice than the normal biriyani rice. This dish also contains an egg along with the chicken pieces as a common practice in southern sides of the state.
They have a large dining area and family dining space that are fully air conditioned and well furnished. Wooden tables and chairs with cushion tops are used as main furniture. The whole restaurant has a simple ambience and this look is achieved without making the place look too drab and blank.
They have uniformed waiters who are well experienced but they are not fully informed on the menu and dishes. Take away customers are also prominent at this place and they have arranged a good waiting area for such customers.
