While travelling on the highway towards Calicut, you might always find it a daunting task, if you are looking for a decent vegetarian restaurant. Sri Ganapathy Bhavan located near Kuttippuram Bridge was started back in 2003 is one place that has been a favourite of foodies for quite some time now. This restaurant is open from 6:30 am to 8:30 pm and will be closed on all Sundays. Morning breakfast dishes and evening snacks dishes are the must try items from this place.
Vegetarian food and Malappuram are not two words that go hand in hand. Its in fact a quite difficult task to find good vegetarian hotels once you stepped into the district. Sree Ganapathy Bhavan at Kuttippuram has always been an oasis for vegetarian customers who are passing on the highway through the district.
When you are travelling from Thrissur to Calicut, this restaurant is located on the right side after Thrikkanapuram near KTDC Aaram Motel. Mallur Bridge near Kuttippuram is also another main landmark near the restaurant to identify the place. They have a pretty wide free space near the road infront of the restaurant where you can park your vehicles.
Breakfast special like Poori, Dosa, Idli etc are a must try. Bubbly hot Poori, prepared on order is served with their special potato masala. Hot poori dipped in that awesome masala feels absolutely tasty. Prepared with rather lavish use of ghee the Ghee roast from this restaurant is distinguished with the dips they serve with it. Excellent Sambar, Chutney and Ulli Chammandhi make this dish a delight to have.
Lunch hours at this restaurant are famous for their famous afternoon meals. Two side curries, poriyal, pickle, puli inchi, curd and Payasam are the items that are included in their meals. Ela Ada they serve hot after their lunch hours is another dish that attracts a lot of customers during their evening snacks time. The filling inside the ada with sharkara and coconut is just super tasty.
Ambience at this place is quite clean and open. Kept simple they have that minimalistic approach that feels perfect for this restaurant.
