As it can be easily deduced from the name Sethi Da Dhaba serves North Indian, especially Punjabi cuisine dishes to their customers. Authentic quality of their food and the cool ambiance setup of this restaurant helped it to gain attention of the foodies in Kochi. This restaurant is located Jawahar Nagar, Kadavanthra kochi and opens only in the evening from 6 pm to 11:30 pm. Butter Chicken, Kadai Veg, Chicken Biriyani etc are some of their must try dishes.
Including Dhaba along with your name has become the easiest way to advertise that you serve North Indian cuisine, especially Punjabi food. So when Sethi Da Dhaba, opened back in 2015 every one thought, here is another one of such self proclaimed North Indian eatery that will come and go. But Sethi Da Dhaba is came and never gone and by the looks of it, they are going to be there forever.
The quality and taste of the dishes they serve has made a bench mark for any North Indian Cuisine restaurant in the city. Although their dishes are not cheaply priced, by the turn out of customers at their restaurant you can understand the foodies in Kochi don’t mind paying the price as long as the quality is excellent.
Tandoori Chicken, Paneer Tikka, Butter Chicken, Kadai Veg are some of their must try dishes from their vast menu. They also have some unique dishes to try out if you are in the mood for experiments. They have different varieties of breads such as Lacha Paratha, Butter Naan etc which you can enjoy with their tasty side dishes. They serve Jal Jeera, a slightly sour tasting drink as complimentary drink to their customers and the Lassi, with its original taste is another chosen drink of their patrons to finish the meal with.
Vegetarian dishes are also Punjabi chefs and Masalas they bring directly from Punjab are said to be the main reason for their authenticity. Another reason that contributes to their success is the attention to detail they show in even the little things. Although their ambience can’t be said to be anything close to that of a Dhaba they have tried to bring the appeal in other aspects, from Sikh headgear wearing waiters to the constant playing Punjabi songs.
They have an open courtyard with high ceilings as a primary dining area. This place is suited for large families and groups and the inner dining area is best suited for regular dining customers in small groups. The courteous but not over the top behaviour of their service people is another highlight of this restaurant.
