Without any signboards, this restaurant known among the locals by its owner’s name got noticed for their beef and mutton dishes. Mammali’s restaurant is near Jamathe Islami mosque, at Kovoor and will be closed on all Sundays. Various dishes at this restaurants are available at different timings, so its better to go to this place according to your preference of dishes.
The only weird thing about this small, but decent one room hotel is that it doesn’t have any name plates to woo in customers. But when you learn about this place suddenly it will start to make sense. This restaurant, which opens both to the highway, as well as to Kovoor town, has been functioning at this place for more than forty years.
Popularly known among the locals by its owner’s name, Mammali’s restaurant is located right next to Jamathe Islami Mosque, at Kovoor has a sister concern by the name Volga functioning opposite Medical college Chest hospital.
This restaurant famous for its non veg delicacies has a special time table they follow everyday. Mutton dishes are available only during morning breakfast hours, followed by biriyani and chicken dishes during lunch hours and finishing off with beef items served during evening and dinner hours.
With plenty of ginger and garlic pieces, Beef Chili has beef pieces mixed in thick onion and tomato gravy, with hot peppery taste and nice dark brown color gravy, is a spicy treat to try. Roughly chopped pieces marinated in hot red color masala and dunk fried in oil, to make Beef fry, another must try dish from this place with a special taste.
The star of their lunch hours is their Beef biriyani, which is quite awesome for the price they charge it, is served with salad and katti chammandhi. Tasting different from the usual dishes was their chicken chukka, prepared in tomato paste with slight sour gravy, is also worth a try.
Most of their customers are locals and regulars, which explains why they don’t want a signboard. For such a small restaurant, they give lot of importance to ambience and hygiene, which is evident from the hot sterilized plated in which they serve food. Meals and parcel service is prominat from the Volga restaurant near the medical college chest hospital.
