Choice restaurant at Fort Road, near Prabath Junction, Kannur, is nothing but a decent option for the lovers of Indian and Chinese cuisine lovers. Lunch and dinner hours are the best time to visit this place, which is open from 10 am to 10 pm everyday, except for the holy month of Ramadhan. American Chopsy, Chilli Chicken, Chicken Pakoda are some of the dishes to try from this restaurant.
Reliability and consistency in quality are the two things which make this restaurant, which has nothing much to boast about from their menu as exceptional, but all their dishes do maintain an exemplary quality and taste.
Choice restaurant is at the end of Fort road when one travels from Plaza Junction, right next to Prabath junction. As this place don’t have a dedicated parking area for itself other than the small one in front of the restaurant, it becomes very difficult to find parking near the restaurant, when it combines with the heavy rush in Fort road. There is a pay and park facility in the shopping complex nearby where you can safely park your vehicle while having food from this place.
American Chopsy from this place has been prepared according to the standard practice of covering fried noodles with tomato sauce and then topping it with an egg bull’s eye and provided with a decent dish you can enjoy. A mixture of scrambled eggs, grated chicken, prawns and veggies all mixed together into a perfect blend to make the mixed fried rice dish which has much fan following and even though its an ordinary dish, felt tasty nevertheless.
Chicken pakoda, a preparation with boneless chicken and onion, wrapped in masala, is deep fried in oil to prepare this north Indian Starter dish that has wide demand from their customers and should be had when its hot as its crispiness is what makes this dish dearer than its taste. Fried chicken pieces covered in gravy and served inside biriyani rice to give their version of the biriyani which is nothing special but is nonetheless a tasty dish to try.
This restaurants ambience has nothing flamboyant about its décor and they have kept it simple and functional with wooden tables and wooden chairs with cushion tops, instead of being showy. They have three different dining areas with an air conditioned family room on the first floor with a pretty good view of the street below.
