There is a general neglect towards Vegetarian food in Kerala and Kochi has been notorious for it. Its bit difficult to find pure vegetarian dishes in the district and when it comes to classy or posh Vegetarian restaurants, the list becomes countable on fingers. BTH Sarovaram is one such restaurant which you can count on to have some classy vegetarian dishes in style.
Although the BTH restaurant located at N.H 47, opposite Folks wagon showroom, Kannadikkadavu was started back in 2000, BTH group started their first restaurant at DH Road; the mother of all premium vegetarian restaurants in the city was started some 50 years back and always been Kochi’s first option when it came to vegetarian food. They also have branches in Lulu Mall and Wellington Island too.
Although their menu is pretty vast and covers almost every popular vegetarian item from both North Indian and South Indian cuisines, their normal dishes still gets the most popularity. Afternoon Special meals from the restaurant served in vazha ila is one of their most popular item. Although on the pricier side, this dish is served with four vegetable side curries and an array of gravies to choose from. The taste of Payasam served with the meals make you feel that you got your money’s worth.
Masala Dosa, Tomato Oothappam, Masala Pappad, Paneer Butter Masala etc are some of your other regular vegetarian dishes served here with a premium touch. You can also buy their pure veg sweets and confectioneries made at the restaurant itself. There are many takers for the pure Jain dishes too, which is taken fancy of many vegetarians in the state.
Afternoon hours are their busiest time but they have more than enough staff and space to accommodate their rush hour customers. They have a main dining area, which opens during their breakfast, lunch and dinner hours and then they have their snacks area which is open all throughout the day for service.
