As its name denotes, this restaurant has an ambience that is covered mostly in bamboo, but there is a lot more to this place than what meets the eye. BambooChicken fry, beef mappas, koonthal fry, meals, chicken biriyani are some of the dishes to try from this restaurant at near Rajarajeshwari temple, at Chiravakku, Thaliparambu. Awesome Kerala cuisine dishes and a very different ambience set predominantly with the use of bamboos set apart this restaurant from the usual diners in Kannur district. When you are traveling Kannur town, you have to make a right turn at Cheravakku Junction just after Thalipparambu town, Bamboo Fresh restaurant is just 100 meters from the junction on right side on a curve.
Ambience of this restaurant is awesome and elaborately decorated, mainly using a mixture of bamboo and wood, where major portions of the walls are covered with bamboo mats and choir, while the whole ceiling has been grandly decorated with bamboo mats, choir and wooden panels. The whole place has an open and airy feeling to it with only half length walls and pillars and they have used wooden furnishing too, to match with the overall ambience of the restaurant.
Fried chicken pieces with hot red color, courtesy of the spicy masala used, with lots of spring onions and red chilies spread over the dish, Bamboo special chicken fry is widely demanded dish from this place for you to try. Beef mappas from this place is not spicy as expected but was quite enjoyable to be tried with their chappathy or porotta dishes, with its slightly oily gravy which added to the taste of the overall dish with the chewy beef pieces.
Meals served with two side curries, pappadam, pickle and awesome fish curry is in overall a great experience and has every ingredient to make it a perfect lunch time experience, including payasam to finish of the meals at a sweet note. Properly fried squid with onion masala, served as Koonthal fry is a great addition to their already perfect meals, from their seafood dishes.
For such a well equipped restaurant non acceptance of credit cards can be cited as a minor drawback, although they do accept prior reservations for tables, which makes it suitable for with its ambience a good place to have family get-togethers. They have very efficient service and a good parking area managed by security personal. They do undertake catering orders too.
