Chicken Broast is now pretty much a common dish in Trivandrum, but back in 2002 that was not the case. Arabian Broast restaurant claims to be the one who first brought this dish to Trivandrum is surely a pioneer who is still going strong. Open from 12 pm to 11 pm, this restaurant is located at Kamaleshwaram. Chicken Broast and their Friday special Kabsa are the must try dishes from this place.
Back in 2002, when this restaurant was located in Chala Market, no one had those fancy gas furnaces you now see Chicken Broast get prepared in where you just dunk it in the dough and then dip it in searing oil and hot, crispy dish is served. Back in the day when Mr Rafi started serving Broast, he used to boil the oil using the wood furnace. Now the equipment might have changed but that haven’t changed the recipe or taste of the Broast served here.
Apart from their legendary Chicken Broast, another dish that has caught the fancy of their customers is the Friday Special Kabasa they serve here. Both Mutton and Chicken Kabsa from this place is just amazing. Mr Rafi serves it just one day in a week so that he can give his personal attention to the item when it's being prepared. But if you order for more than 10 people beforehand, they will be happy to prepare the dish for you any other day too.
Before starting at the present location, this restaurant was first located at Chala Market and later at near the highway. They started at their present location at Kamaleshwaram back in 2016, opposite Valyaveedu lane. They don’t have much parking area for their customers but you can find parking near the restaurant on the roadside.
The restaurant has a main hall at the front with a live kitchen at the front where they prepare their Broast. Apart from the main hall, they have two more dining areas inside to cope with the rush of customers during afternoon lunch hour rush.
Chicken Biriyani and Meals are also available here in the afternoon which has a lot of takers. But the reason to visit this place will always remain as their Chicken Broast and Friday Special Kabsa.
