This small Tamil styled vegetarian hotel on Thaliyil road, Karamana, after SSLPS School got famous for their mouth watering breakfast dishes. Annapurna hotel opens from 7:30 am to 9 pm everyday, but its best to visit this place for their morning breakfast hours from 7:30 am to 10 am. Idally and poori masala are the must try items from this place.
Hotel Annapoorna will make you understand the fact that, the looks of the hotel is never a measuring point for the taste of the food they serve. This 50 year old hotel is located on a small curve after SSLPS School, Karamana.
This restaurant can barely hold a maximum of twenty people at a time, functions in a building as old as the hotel itself, is located on a less frequented road, but still makes people travel on the main road to deviate this way, just to have food from this place. But most of the regular customers at this place are locals and pilgrims who visit nearby temple.
Breakfast dishes made this place famous among the foodies in the district. Idali served at this place is so soft that, if someone tried to make something softer it will melt in hand itself. The combination of such delicious idalies with katti chammandhi, chutney and sambar makes it all the more pleasing for your taste buds. They also serve good meals in the afternoon
Served with palatable tomato chutney and potato masala, poori set contains three poories that will make you drool over the dish just with its aroma. Karavada is a suitable add on dish with both these breakfast dishes.
The roads infront of the road are not that busy, so you can find parking on the sides of the road in the vicinity of the hotel itself. For such a small hotel they have a pretty well kept ambience, furnished with plastic chairs and tables.
Another positive point for the restaurant is their service. All the dishes they serve are kept in basins on a table from where they serve you very fast. Despite the fact that you have to clear the banana leaves you have food in yourself, the highlight of their service efficiency is the owner of the place who is always present at the hotel and is a pretty jolly good fellow who engages in conversation with his customers and make them feel welcome and an urge to come back.
